YAY!!!  YIPPEE!!!  WOO HOO!!!

Charley’s met check on 11/13/14 went great and his lungs are clear!  Dr. Buss said Charley looks great and makes the top of his list of miracle dogs, which just warms his momma’s heart!   Charley is a 4 Year Bone Cancer Warrior and he’s 1 year post metastatic OS removal!

GO CHARLEY!  Keep fighting for all of our cancer warriors whom are no longer fighting and for all of those that are in the midst of their battle!

HAPPY 4 YEAR AMPUVERSARY CHARLEY!!!   YIPPEE!!!  YAY!!!  WOO HOO!!!  HIP “HOP” HOORAY!!!

Today is Charley’s 4 Year Ampuversary!  I can’t believe that it has been almost a year (11/8/13) since his metastatic OS tumor was removed.  I am so proud of Charley for being the OS Warrior that he is and has been for over 4 years!  I’m so proud of his courage, strength, and resiliency! I’m blessed to have been given an additional 1,461 precious days with Charley since his amputation!  I’m in awe of the lessons that Charley has taught me along this journey.  I pray that he has many many more years of lessons to teach me.  I pray that his mission here on earth consists of many more years of inspiring others with hope as they start or continue on their osteosarcoma journey.  Charley is definitely loving life and living with cancer, not dying of cancer.

As I promised Charley last year when we found out that his cancer returned, we took him to the beach a few weeks ago to celebrate his huge milestone.  My parents, Joe, Charley and I drove down to Cape San Blas in Port St. Joe, FL to spend a week enjoying the powder white sand and blue green waters of the Gulf of Mexico.  We rented a beach cottage directly on the beach and Charley LOVED every minute of it!  The beach at Cape San Blas is completely dog friendly, as are a few restaurants, if anyone is dreaming of a beach getaway!  We had a photographer take our pictures on the beach and they turned out beautiful!

Charley, you are loved more than you will ever know.  You are my hero, my cancer warrior, my love, my Charley…. ♥ ♥ ♥

I’m a few days late but Charley’s 47th Month Ampuversary was on 9/28, so Happy Belated Ampuversary!!!   YIPPEE!!!  YAY!!!  WOO HOO!!!   HIPHOP” HOORAY!!!

We are getting very close to celebrating 4 years on 10/28/14!  To put 4 years into perspective in Charley’s life, he was 2-1/2 years old when he was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma and he just turned 6-1/2 years old on 9/29.  On his 4th ampuversary, he will have spent 66.6% of his life as a Tripawd fighting cancer and it will be 1 year since having his metastatic OS tumor removed.  Pretty amazing indeed!  I can barely remember him having 4 legs.  This is why Charley is and will always be a Bone Cancer Warrior!

To honor Charley’s AMAZING journey we have a BIG surprise for our boy!  Drum roll please…..

When Charley’s OS came back in October 2013, I promised him that I would take him to see the ocean to swim in the waves and run in the sand (living in St. Louis, MO he has never seen the ocean).  My parents, Joe, Charley and I are renting a mini van and driving 13++ hours to Cape San Blas, FL (It’s an inlet about 1 hr or so east of Panama City with the gulf on one side and St. Joe Bay on the other).  We rented a 2 bdrm house directly on the beach.  Cape San Blas is completely dog friendly with no beach restrictions…YAY!  Charley will be running in the powder white sand and swimming in the green blue gulf water!  He already has his own float coat to wear!  I hired a photographer to take sunset beach pictures of Charley and all of us too!  Long story short…it’s a surprise vacation for Charley!

Charley LOVES his cow ears!  Every night around 7pm he will start bugging us for one…..if we don’t get him what he wants he will start barking!  Spoiled??  I say so and he deserves to be spoiled rotten!

Today is Charley’s 46 Month Ampuversary!!!   YIPPEE!!!  YAY!!!  WOO HOO!!!   HIPHOP” HOORAY!!!

We are getting very close to celebrating 4 years!  To put 4 years into perspective in Charley’s life, he was 2-1/2 years old when he was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma and he will be 6-1/2 years old the end of next month.

Charley enjoyed his brief photo shoot in the front yard this evening…of course posing for treats!  It’s been very hot and humid here recently, between 105-110 with the heat index, so his outside time has almost been non-existent the past week or so.

Here’s my beautiful boy….

Great news!!!   Charley saw his oncologist today for chest x-rays and they were clear!  YIPPEE!!!  YAY!!! WOO HOO!!!

Dr. Buss said that Charley looks great!   He can’t believe it’s been almost 10 months since his OS met was removed!

Our next met check will be on 11/13/14…2 weeks after Charley’s 4 Year Ampuversary!!!

Charley decided to wear a bow tie to impress his oncologist today…I think it worked! 🙂   Here are some pics from today and they are a bit blurry. Charley was a bit anxious today, had difficulty sitting still and was a bit too distracted to pose for pictures.  I don’t blame him at all…he did have his leg amputated there, 5 rounds of Carboplatin, a CT-scan, his OS met removed, 6 rounds of chemo alternating between Doxorubicin and Lomustine, numerous chest x-rays and blood work, countless poking and prodding, 4-1/2 years of oncology visits, etc.   Just a few reasons why Charley is my OS Warrior!

Today is Charley’s 45 Month Ampuversary!!!  It’s also been 10 months since his metastatic OS tumor was removed!  YIPPEE!!!  YAY!!!  WOO HOO!!!  We are now well on our way to celebrating 4 years!

Charley celebrated his special day by eating some grilled salmon (his second dinner) and he just finished devouring a cow’s ear in record time!

I’ve attached a few pics of Charley that I took this evening out in our yard. 🙂

Charley also celebrated his 44th Month Ampuversary this past Saturday on June 28,2014!!!!   YIPPEE!!!  YAY!!!  WOO HOO!!!  We are now rounding the corner to 4 years!

Charley is feeling patriotic so he decided to wear his super cool red, white, and blue stars bow tie today in honor of the holiday weekend!  If you like his shirt collar and bow tie, you can find them at Designer Duds for Dogs.  The collar and tie are both very high quality too!

Charley just wanted to say…..  “HAPPY HUMP DAY!”

The weather was so beautiful today, so we just had to go outside and play!

And in case anyone has noticed, Charley’s grey facial hair that was underneath his nose and under his chin went away sometime during his last 6 rounds of chemo that ended on 3/12/14.  Charley went grey about 2 years of age and now he looks even younger at 6 years old!  He still has a few greys under his chin but they don’t show up in pictures!  🙂

Here’s a picture of his “before” grey from 10/28/13 (his 3 Year Ampuversary BTW)….

….and here’s some pics from today 6/11/14 (7 months after his metastatic OS tumor was removed). What a difference, eh?

Charley has his onocology follow up appointment tomorrow afternoon which include chest x-rays to check for lung mets.

It’s been 6 months since Charley’s metastatic osteosarcoma tumor was removed from underneath his amputation scar with clean margins and he finished his 6th and final round of chemo (alternating between Doxorubicin and CCNU) on 3/12/14, so any spare positive thoughts or prayers would be greatly appreciated!  🙂

I’ll update everyone as soon as I can.  Charley’s appointment isn’t until 3pm cst.

We’ll be keeping our fingers and 3-paws crossed for only good news!
