Good news!  Charley’s chest rads are clear!!!  YIPPEE!!!  All of the angels at Rainbow Bridge must be looking out for my boy!  Thank you all for your positive thoughts and prayers!  Charley wore his Valentine’s Day bowtie to his appointment today and he was a big hit with all of the staff!

Dr. Buss has been seeing Charley since before he was 2 years old because of the aneurysmal cyst that his vet initially thought was cancer in his left mid-humerus and then the OS developed 7 months later in the same humerus but proximally.

Dr. Buss made the comment today that he never gets to see a dog grow up (Charley will turn 7 next month) and he was actually smiling and very talkative today….I started thinking and I bet as an oncologist he doesn’t get to share much good news or get to know people as long as he has known us which is really sad.  He said he wanted to know where Charley found the fountain of youth and he can’t believe it’s been 4 years 3 months since his amp and 15 months since his OS met was removed.  He said Charley looks great!  We go back in 3 months….I’m not comfortable going longer than that.

I also wanted to thank each of you for making Canine Cancer Warriors a HUGE success! THANK YOU!!!

You have all helped me surpass my initial goal to sell 20 shirts and hoodies. A total of 228 shirts and hoodies were sold! I am truly amazed!

Because of each and every one of you, Bone Cancer Dogs, Inc. (www.bonecancerdogs.org) will be receiving 100% of the profits…..drum roll, please…..

$3,647.00!!! Yes, that’s $3,647.00 that will go directly toward funding of specific research directed toward canine osteosarcoma!  Together we ALL made a difference! ❤️

Additional orders have been placed since the campaign ended last night, and the CANINE CANCER WARRIORS campaign has relaunched and shirts and hoodies will be available again from now until Wednesday, February 18.

In honor of Charley and all of the Canine Cancer Warriors who are currently fighting the biggest battle of their life and in memory of those who have earned their angel wings!  100% of the profits…yes 100%…will again be donated to help fund canine cancer ongoing trials and research! 1 in 3 dogs will be diagnosed with cancer. 50% of dogs over the age of 10 will die from cancer. Together we can ALL make a difference! ❤️ PLEASE SHARE!!! ❤️

Here’s pictures of the front and back of the shirt I designed.  The shirt is available in a short sleeve tee, long sleeve tee, hoodie and a women’s fitted tee and they come in a variety of colors.

Charley, you are stunningly handsome in your Valentine’s Bowtie!! You put the “dap” in “dapper”!

CONGRATULATUONS CHARLEY!! HUGE, MAGNIFICENTLY HUGE BUCKETS OF CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! 🙂

We are all in awe of you Charley! Heck, even your vet thinks you’re pretty darn special…and that’s because you ARE!!

And then for you and your mom to create those powerful tee shirts and to raise money to defeat this crap disease…STANDING OVATION TO YOU BOTH!!

While this is an incredibly important cause, honest ro goodness, the main reason I purchased a tee shirt was because of CHARLEY AND ELLEN!! You have touched my heart on so many levels! Not only do you inspire, but you always acknowledge those who had to nead on up to the Bridge…thank you.

    THANK YOU!!

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle too!

I have tears running down my face!! I am so happy for Charley and his family. Osteo is an awful disease. I lost my beautiful Golden, Monkey almost 5 years ago to it and not a day goes by that I don’t long for her. Charley is truly an inspiring story. Most are not as fortunate as Charley and his story gives me goose bumps!!! I pray he will have continued good health. Keep posting these wonderful updates. Keep up the fight, Charley!!! Happy Valentine’s Day to you! I am sure you will get plenty of treats and kisses!! xoxo

    • Thank you so much Barbara! I’m so sorry for your loss of Monkey. I hope Charley can continue to be an inspiration to many for years and years and years to come.

      Hugs and chocolate Labby kisses,
      Ellen and Charley xoxo

Oh it’s so good to see charley doing well it gives me some hope . I have a beautiful 4 yr old Chesapeake bay retriever Zack who just started on this osteo journey . We have been together since he was eight weeks old and we bonded totally from day one. I never imagined this would happen. He had an osteo on hi front left leg they just removed the leg lat week and he will start chemo next week. His chest and and lymph glands are clear so that’s good. This is killing me but I will do everything to keep him as long as I can.i am completely overwhelmed. But I love him so much I have to suck it up. Thank you for your storey

    • I’m so sorry that you have to deal with this unwanted journey. Zack will do amazing as a Tripawd! NEVER GIVE UP HOPE! I hope Charley can continue to be an inspiration to many for years and years and years to come (fingers and 3-paws crossed)!
